Where has fashion come from?,
Fashion has arguably been apart of our lives for hundreds of years and can even be dated back to the Egyptians, however fashion as we know it originated in Paris, France. To be more specific it was Versailles, during King Louis XIV rule from 1722-1789
Where was the first centre of fashion?
Due to King Louis XIV Versailles, in Paris became the first centre of fashion in the world. Louis set it up so that people could bring clothes and jewels they had made to show off to the king, Versailles was originally a hunting lodge which he then turned into the Palace we know today. Louis would then send off his favourite designs to show off to the rest of Europe so they could see what the latest trends were in the French royal court and could copy. France then had a very strong influence on the rest of Europe
When was the age of the designer?
The age of the designer was mid 19th century, and the first real designer was Charles fredrick worth. Charles was born in England before moving to Paris continue his work as a fashion Designer, he is know as the father of Haute Couture.
